GRADUATION PARTY - 07/10/2006

Well, it's monday afternoon, and I'm finally feeling human again. I spent 8 hours yesterday restoring my appartment to the condition that it was in Saturday afternoon before people started showing up. The scene I awoke to Sunday around noon bared the typical signs of a huge blowout party. Empty, and not so empty beer cans and bottles on every flat surface along with dirtied plates containting cake splooge or shishkabob chunks. The cake splooge was ALL over my kitchen floor (which is carpeted) and was the first sign that I was in desperate need of an industrial carpet shampooer. The dirt trail from the sliding doors through the main traffic pattern of the appartment was brutally apparent with the lights on. Fuckit though, small price to pay for an epic night. Here's the total cleanup tally :

- 7 trash bags full of recyclables
- 2 trash cans full of refuse
- 1 oversized bottle of steam carpet cleaner detergent
- 1/2 cake all over Jacky's foot, my sister's face and my kitchen floor (totally epic)
- 3 shrimp found behind and in furniture during cleanup process (I'll know in a couple days if I missed any of them)
- 5 rounds of dirty dishes (EVERY piece of glassware I own got used)
- 0 broken glasses (look at the list so far and this becomes fucking miraculous)

Most definitely a night that I remember in choice bits and pieces, but will never forget. The kebobs were an awesome choice once again, they definitely maintain their reign as the ultimate party food ever. Starting a large party with a power hour should from this point forward be outlawed, but in the same token I'm sure we will do it again. My djembe was put to great use around one of the hippiest fire gatherings since the late 60's. The cake met an unfortunate, yet extremely entertaining death on my kitchen floor. At least 4 people ended up soaked in beer and/or soda, one of which was Derek who ended up wearing my bathrobe over his Coke drenched clothing with the Guiness crown to boot. The events are still drifting into my brain through a dense fog of metabolised liquor, beer and wine.

The assortment of friends that showed up to this shindig was definitely the highlight in my oppinion. A few key people were unquestionably missing, but we made due, becoming a great crowd having a great time. I would have this sort of party much more often if it were'nt for the inevitable aftermath in my aching head and dirtied appartment. But the consequences were most definitely worthy of the cause, and I can't wait till the next time.
